SlangSense is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information within our mobile application (“the App”). By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Data Collection

If you contact us directly, we may receive information about you such as your name, email address, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.

Locally Stored Data

We do not collect or have access to any personal data within the App.
All data generated and stored by the App remains locally on your mobile device.
There are no cloud-based connections or external servers involved in storing or processing your slang searches, decoder messages, or parent guide usage.

Analytics

We have access to Apple Analytics data, which provides non-identifying, aggregate information about App usage for the purpose of improving performance, quality, crash reporting, and unresponsive events.
For example, we can see device type, country, iOS version, and app crash data. No personal user information is collected.

Unique App ID

We may track a unique App ID for general analytics purposes.
This App ID is a randomly generated identifier created upon first launch of the App.
It is not personally identifiable and cannot be linked back to your personal identity.

Data Usage

The locally stored slang lookups, decoder results, and any customized preferences (such as saved favorite slang words) are only stored on your device.
We do not access, collect, or transmit this data externally.

Data Security

Since all user data is stored locally on your device, your data’s security is governed by the security protections of your device’s operating system.
We recommend using strong passwords and keeping your device software updated to enhance protection.

Third Party Services

Currently, SlangSense does not integrate with third-party services like RevenueCat or ChatGPT.
The App operates entirely independently without transmitting personal data to any external systems.

GDPR Data Protection Rights

We respect and uphold your data protection rights under GDPR and similar frameworks.
Each user has the right to:

  • Access — Request copies of your personal data (if any exists).
  • Rectification — Request correction of any incorrect information.
  • Erasure — Request deletion of your personal data, where applicable.
  • Restrict Processing — Request restricted use of your personal data.
  • Object to Processing — Object to how your data is being used.
  • Data Portability — Request your data be transferred to another organization or directly to you.

You have the right to delete any data generated by SlangSense.

What Data Can Be Deleted?

You have the ability to delete the following:

  • Saved slang lookups
  • Personal search history
  • Decoder history

How Can I Delete My Data?

You can delete all your app data directly within the App by navigating to:

Help ➔ Data Deletion Rights ➔ Delete All Local Data

Once deleted, this data will be permanently removed from your device’s local storage and cannot be recovered.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in the App, legal requirements, or user feedback.
Any changes will be posted within the App and will take effect immediately upon posting.
